Casual Conference & Event Team Member
The Conference and Event Team has a strong and hard-won reputation for exceptionally high standards. As part of this team, you will be expected to play a key role in delivering consistently high levels of service to a wide range of clients.This is a diverse role where each shift will bring various challenges; the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, to multi-task and be proactive.
Main Duties
- Service and maintain meeting rooms for events and meetings for up to 400 guests
- Set, serve, replenish and clear away refreshments for all meeting rooms
- Work as part of a team to deliver catering for all private and corporate functions and events
- Ensure all areas are constantly clean including floors, conference tables and catering areas
Skills and Personal Specification
- To take instruction well and have the confidence to work from your own initiative when needed
- Our ideal candidate will be hard-working, proactive and with an eye for detail
- Ability to resolve problems and ‘think on your feet'
- Will be experienced in waiting tables and bar service and will be able to deliver great customer service to all clients
- Must have a personable, outgoing and friendly manner
- Must be hands-on and proactive
- Must be highly organised and capable of prioritising multiple concurrent tasks
- Knowledge of table set up for dinners and functions is preferable
Company Policies and Customer Service
- To be well groomed and observe good personal hygiene at all times, as detailed within our Food Hygiene Policy
- Familiarise yourself with the Food Hygiene Manual and follow the standards stipulated
- Wear minimal make-up, jewellery and fragrance, enclosed non-slip clean black shoes & smart black trousers or sensible length skirt (Branded shirts will be provided for work on events)
- Long hair to be tied back or worn up
- Use of mobile phone whilst working should be for emergencies only
- Report any illness or symptoms of food poisoning or food-borne disease immediately to your line manager to safeguard the health of others
- Participate in staff training as directed including all aspects of security, fire and emergency, basic food hygiene training and health and safety training as required
- All staff are expected to observe all Health and Safety at work regulations as set out in accordance with its statutory obligations
