Careful drivers booking MOT’s now in Somerset

17th Jun 2020

“Careful drivers want the peace of mind that their vehicle is still safe;  during lockdown household vehicles have only driven very short journeys or none at all. It’s always a good idea to not leave problems to develop later on.” - Bradley Mauger, Manager of the Workshop and Restoration Centre based at Haynes International Motor Museum.

In March, it was announced that there would be an automatic 6 month extension without testing granted for any light vehicles that were due an MOT on or after the 30 March, however with lockdown beginning to ease, people are beginning to use their vehicles as before, even if they are still working at home. Almost 1 in 10 cars are dangerous to drive, with research finding that 9% having at least one serious defect,  flaws that are routinely identified during an MOT.

With the MOT extension it can be tempting to put off looking after your vehicle, but safety is key. Read more about top reasons to book an MOT and service for your vehicle.
