1967 Citroen DS 19A

With the introduction of the DS in 1955, Citroën again demonstrated its commitment to advanced motoring technology.  It broke new ground with its "base unit" construction, which consisted of a steel inner skeleton onto which unstressed outer panels were bolted.  The DS was also the world’s first production car to have front wheel disc brakes fitted as standard.

In 1967 it pioneered headlights which turned with its wheels, to light the road on bends and, in 1969, it became the first production car to have electronic fuel injection.
