Family Fun and Iconic Cars this Easter at Haynes Motor Museum
31st Mar 2026
This Easter Haynes Motor Museum invites families, engineering enthusiasts, and petrolheads of all ages to experience a high-octane holiday filled with interactive trails, hands-on workshops, and legendary vehicles. From Saturday 28th March to Sunday 19th April 2026.
Whether you're looking for things to do with kids in Somerset or a deep dive into automotive history, the Museum’s 2026 Easter programme offers something for everyone.
The Great Easter Egg Trail: Crack the Code!
The headline event for younger visitors is the Easter Themed Trail. Included with standard Museum entry, this eggs-hilarating journey takes families through the halls of motoring history. Explore the collection, find hidden letters tucked away near iconic vehicles, and crack the secret code to complete the challenge. It’s a fantastic way to keep children engaged while discovering the stories behind some of the world's most famous cars. The trail runs from 4 April until 19 April.
Young Engineers Club: Shaping the Future
For the next generation of car designers, the Young Engineers Club returns with two specialized workshops.
Session 1 will explore "How do designers shape cars to solve problems?" – Kids will use foam clay to sculpt their own car designs, learning how form meets function.
Session 2 will explore "How does a racing car’s shape affect its speed?" – A deep dive into aerodynamics and the physics of racing.
Cost: Only £5 per child. Book here.
Enthusiast Talks: The Quest for Speed
Curious minds can join the Enthusiast Talks held every Wednesday throughout April. This year, the focus is on Triumph and Guy Martin’s quest to break the two-wheeled land speed record. Learn about the engineering marvels and the sheer grit required to push a motorcycle to its absolute limit.
Racing Fun: Scalextric and RC Tracks
Back by popular demand, the Museum’s dedicated Scalextric and RC (Remote Control) Racing tracks are open for competition. Test your skills on the epic new tracks. A perfect way for parents and children to go head-to-head in a miniature race for glory!
