Who We Are
Founded in 1985 by the successful automotive publisher John Haynes OBE, we are an independent registered charity. We look after a collection of more than 300 vehicles and automotive memorabilia as well as an extensive library and archive.
Our charitable objectives are to conserve our collection and use it to bring automotive heritage to life by exploring how things work, integrating engineering innovation with history and human stories. Through the lens of motoring, we aim to grow meaningful engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers.
Governed by a Board of Trustees, we are accredited by Arts Council England, a member of the Museums Association, and hold Visit England's Gold Accolade.
