June Enthusiast Talks: Discover the Cars that Inspired John Haynes OBE

2nd Jun 2026

This June, Haynes Motor Museum invites visitors to take a closer look at the vehicles that brought joy, excitement and inspiration to our founder, John Haynes OBE.

Our special Enthusiast Talks Driven by John Haynes offer a unique opportunity to explore some of the cars that John particularly enjoyed driving throughout his life. More than just remarkable machines, these vehicles tell the story of a man whose passion for motoring helped shape one of the UK’s most celebrated automotive collections.

John’s love affair with cars began at an early age and continued throughout his lifetime. What started as a personal fascination with engineering, design and driving evolved into a remarkable collection of vehicles and, ultimately, the creation of Haynes Motor Museum.

Throughout June, our knowledgeable volunteers will delve into the stories behind a selection of vehicles that held a special place in John’s heart. Visitors will discover what made these cars stand out, learn about their place in automotive history and gain fresh insight into John’s personal tastes as a driver and collector.

These talks offer more than technical detail and historical facts. They provide a fascinating glimpse into the personality of the man behind the Haynes name – a publisher, enthusiast and collector whose vision continues to inspire generations of motoring fans.

Whether you are a lifelong automotive enthusiast, a regular Museum visitor or simply curious to learn more about the man whose passion created this extraordinary collection, these talks are not to be missed.

Talks take place every Monday and Thursday throughout June at 1pm.

The talks are included with Museum admission, making them a fantastic way to enrich your visit and discover a more personal side of our founder’s remarkable motoring journey.

We look forward to welcoming you to Haynes Motor Museum this June.
