We are thrilled to welcome all non-school learners and their families, to the Home Education Days at Haynes Motor Museum! Each of our Home Education Days will focus on a different theme, with guided tours and exploratory workshop activities included in your discounted entry fee.

Open to those who are:

-Electively home educated
- Educated Other Than at School (EOTAS)
- Flexischooling
- Experiencing barriers to school attendance

Session Dates

Wednesday 13th May 2026 – How have cars changed over time?

Explore the museum and learn how 2 of the greatest automotive pioneers, Karl Benz and Henry Ford, got the world on wheels. Test your car building skills in our Ford inspired production line and follow in the footsteps of iconic British car designers as you design and build your own car.
Monday 28th September 2026 – How are cars changing for the future?

Discover the different ways the cars in our collection have been powered in the past and discover some exciting cars of the future! Investigate how air can be harnessed as a sustainable power source and even have a go at building your own solar powered vehicle.
Monday 25th January 2027 – How are cars designed for speed?

Discover a world of automotive design and technology from the very earliest of cars to Formula 1. Be inspired by some of the most significant cars in the collection, learn about aerodynamics as we build and race our own rocket cars and work scientifically to test crash safety features.

HOME EDUCATION DAYS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Haynes Motor Museum reserves the right to move time slots of cancel an activity if less than 3 people have signed up for it.
It is the responsibility of the visitor to ensure that workshop and guided tours do not overlap.
Children under 16 must alwwys be accompanied by an adult - including during workshop sessions.
Tickets are non-refundable or exchangeable due to limited number of places.
Ticket includes Museum access to the holder of the ticket only. These tickets cannot be converted to an annual pass.
Annual Pass holders will need to purchase tickets for this event if they wish to partake in the guided tour or workshop activities.
