Accessibility
It is our aim to make all areas of the Museum accessible to all. Accessibility is always a key consideration when we plan new and temporary exhibitions as well as any other structural developments across the site.
Museum Entrance
We have one main entrance, which is stair-free and has both single doors and double doors. Ramps and lift access are available throughout the rest of the Museum journey.
Access Statement
We have an Access Statement featuring photos of the Museum and information about what to expect when you visit.
Sensory Map
Download our map below to explore all the different sensory experiences in different parts of the Museum.
Sensory Backpacks
Designed with sensory-friendly items and activities, these backpacks help children and adults with additional needs enjoy their visit to the Museum in a more comfortable and engaging way.
Visitors are welcome to borrow a backpack free of charge during their visit.
Mobility Scooter & Wheelchair Hire
Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are free to use during your visit, however, we would ask for a voluntary, minimum donation of £5 towards the upkeep and maintenance to help us continue being able to offer them to visitors. To avoid disappointment we recommend pre-booking these by calling 01963 440804.
Accessible Parking
There are seven designated blue badge bays in our car park and are available on a first come, first served basis.
Getting to The Museum
We are easily located from all directions and connected by public transport to other areas in the UK.
Dogs & Other Pets
Assistance Dogs are allowed in all internal and external areas of the Museum.
Pet dogs are not allowed inside Museum buildings or in the play area but are welcome in the car parks and outside Cafe 750. They should be on a lead at all times.
Feedback & Further Information
We are always striving to improve the Museum experience for visitors and would welcome any feedback or queries you might have. Please contact us at visitus@haynesmuseum.org
