Pininfarina, the legendary Italian design house, has a celebrated history of producing beautiful cars  – but could this be the finest of them all?
A triumph of understated elegance, the 250GT exudes sophistication. The long, low body has smooth flowing lines featuring a delicate front grille. Using only the very finest materials, the luxury interior is exquisitely trimmed. Paired with a powerful V12 engine and advanced suspension and brakes, it blends style, power and speed. Here was a car which, seemingly, combined the best of everything.
However, not every owner thought this the greatest Ferrari. Ferruccio Lamborghini, then a successful tractor manufacturer, was reportedly dissatisfied with the quality of his 250GT and the dismissive response he received from Enzo Ferrari when he complained.  Lamborghini knew he could do better and decided to design and build his own range of cars, beginning a fierce rivalry with Ferrari which continues to this day.
