Striking looks, staggering performance and razor-sharp handling made the AC Cobra a legend.  Created for racing in the USA, the perfect marriage of the finest British design and American power made the Cobra almost unbeatable on the track and the road.

In 1962, American racer and designer Carroll Shelby fitted the light, agile AC Ace sportscar with a powerful Ford V8 engine. The result? A car with raw power, blistering speed, and competitive handling, delivering a thrilling driving experience that shocked the racing world. Regularly beating Ferrari, Porsche and the Corvettes, the Cobra enjoyed outstanding success in road racing and sports car events.

Most Cobras went to the USA, with only a handful built for Britain and Europe. Our car is especially rare: one of just 45 right hand drive models of this specification. Often copied, but never bettered, the Cobra’s fearsome reputation reached new generations through its starring role in the film ‘Ford vs Ferrari.’

The AC Cobra is displayed in The American Dream Exhibition.
