The Dawn of Motoring

The Dawn of Motoring brings to life the very earliest motor cars ever made, offering a fascinating look at how the automobile began and evolved. This remarkable exhibition features historic vehicles such as a 1885 Benz Replica‑Motorwagen - one of the world’s first motorised cars - and a 1898 Daimler Wagonette, each illustrating the ingenuity and bold experimentation at the birth of motoring.

The Benz Patent‑Motorwagen holds a special place in automotive history: thanks to Bertha and Karl Benz, and Bertha’s pioneering long‑distance drive in the 1880s, the motor car was transformed from a curiosity into an idea whose time had come.

Visitors of all ages will discover how these early innovations paved the way for the cars we know today.
