The Red Room

The Red Room is one of our most beloved exhibitions at Haynes Motor Museum, featuring over 40 red cars including a 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Turismo, a 1956 AC Ace and a 1981 Lamborghini Countach LP400S.

Originally curated by Museum founder John Haynes OBE, the collection spans a century of motoring history, showcasing why red has become the universal colour for speed, power, and prestige.

John Haynes believed that when you place a collection of cars in a single, uniform colour, the eye stops being distracted by the paint. Instead, you are encouraged to look more closely at the styling, lines, and engineering design of each individual vehicle.
